“Go Red for Women” Program, Wednesday, February 1st

Epoch Assisted Living of Brewster is sponsoring a luncheon and presentation in conjunction with the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women”. Come for the lunch and presentation and receive some important information along with a “Go Red” pin. Cardiovascular disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 women each year. Put on your “red” sweater, jacket or jersey and stop by the COA for a “heart healthy” treat. We will also have on hand valuable information for women. The signs of heart problems in women can sometimes be different than for men. Learn what signs you need to look for along with ways to help prevent heart attacks and strokes. Information is a valuable tool for your health and you can never have
“too much”.

Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fantasy, Tuesday, February 14th 1:30PM

Come spend Valentine’s afternoon at the COA. Join us for an afternoon of chocolate treats…cookies, brownies and various types of melted chocolate for dipping such goodies as pieces of fruit or cake. Hot chocolate and chocolate flavored coffee will be served. Bring your friends…or just come and make some new friends. Tickets are only $2.00 and are available at the COA office beginning on Monday, January 30th. What a “yummy” way to spend Valentine’s Day!!

Celebrate Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, February 21st 11:30 AM

Join us for lunch to celebrate Mardi Gras! The “French” lunch menu will be:

• Bouef Bourguignon
• Whipped Potatoes
• Vegetables
• Apple Cinnamon Muffin
• French Bread

The Brewster Fire & Rescue Department is announcing a revised burn permit application process and daily call in procedure during the upcoming January 15 to May 1 burn season.

To obtain a burn permit the following revised process will be observed: Burn permits may be purchased in person at Fire Headquarters Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend purchase of burn permits will no longer be available. Residents unable to visit fire headquarters during the purchase hours indicated may print a burn permit application from the fire department website and return to the department at 1657 Main Street, Brewster MA 02631 with a check for the annual fee in the amount of $10.00. The completed burn permit and corresponding burn rules and regulations will be returned to the resident for use during the season.
