The Brewster Fire Department takes great pride in the apparatus that it operates.  The department maintains 13 vehicles and 2 marine units.  The following are scanned images and descriptions of our equipment. (some photographs courtesy of Britton W. Crosby, Osterville, MA)

2007 Ford F350 Super Duty diesel 4x4 with Omaha utility body - EMS jump kit - AED - cellular phone - survival suit - it is used to transport personnel for all types of incidents and for inspections - it is also used for rescue calls on the beach and off road - it tows our boat and other department equipment trailers

1989 Pierce Lance - 1500 gpm class A pump/1000 gal tank - 1500' 5" LDH & Humat valve - 800' 3" hose - 150/200/250' 1 3/4" cross lays - 150/300' 2 1/2" rear-preconnects - 10'/14'/24' ladders - 6 Scott 2.2 SCBA/6 spare - hard suction - 35 gals 3/6% AFFF w/eductor - thermal imaging camera - 4000W inverter - CO & gas meters - hydra-ram forcible entry tool - 1000W portable Honda generator - chain saw - rescue saw - gas PPV fan - AED - portable deck gun - brooms/shovels/hand tools - chimney nozzle - Engine 233 serves as our 1st-due pumper for most incidents

Breaker 235

1959/2002 Kaiser/Greenwood - 5 ton, 6x6 - 300 gpm pump/1100 gal tank/20 gal class A foam - 800' 1" preconnect - 300/300 1 1/2" spare - 10,000 LB winch - chain saw - 1500 gal portable tank - quick water dump - large assortment of brush hand tools - fire shelters - floating pump - the breaker responds on large brush fires in town and mutual aid - it also responds to fires as a tanker in the areas of Brewster without town water -  This is a surplus military truck (converted by Greenwood Fire Apparatus) into the current vehicle - For more information on the history and use of brush breakers click here.

2006 Spartan/Marion - 109' aerial ladder - pre-piped ladder pipe - 28'/35'/35' extension, 16'/20' roof, 14' A frame ladders - 6 Scott 2.2 SCBA/6 spare - portable monitor - ladder pipe - 2 generators - chain saw - Cutter's Edge saw - rescue saw - 4 electric smoke ejectors - 1 large gas PPV fan - portable lights - standpipe pack - salvage covers, equipment and tools - brooms/shovels/hand tools/pikes/rakes - portable lighting - stokes basket - wet/dry vacuum - first aid and O2 kit - The department's first ladder truck was a 1952' Maxim open cab 75' aerial

Forestry 238

1999 Dodge Ram Quad-cab gas-powered 4x4 - 150 gpm/135 gal tank - chain saw - EMS jump kit - AED - brush tools - portable fire extinguishers - portable generator - this vehicle usually operates out of the Nickerson State Park sub-station as a forestry and EMS 1st response unit

Engine 239

1974 Mack R600 - 1250 gpm class A pump/500 gal tank - 200' 5" LDH - 1000' 3" hose - 150/200/250' 1 3/4" cross lays - 150/300' 2 1/2" rear-preconnects - 10'/14'/24' ladders - 4 Scott 2.2 SCBA/4 spare - hard suction - deckgun - 90' 1" booster reel - 1500 gal portable tank - portable class A foam applicator - 2800W generator - Engine 239 is currently running as a reserve piece and is the 3rd due engine for in-town responses.  This truck, when new in 74', ran as the 1st due engine and was considered a "big truck" for the town at that time.  Later, it ran as a combination rescue/pumper carrying all of the department's extrication equipment until the acquisition of the present Heavy Rescue 241.

1994 Ford F-450/Murphy  4x4 - 250 gpm pump/300 gal tank/30 gal foam200' 1 1/2" preconnect - 800' 1" preconnect - pump & roll capable - hard suction - 2 Scott 2.2 SCBA/5 spare - 5000W generator - 8000 lb. winch - brush hand tools - 14' extension ladder - chain saw - EMS equipment - AED - technical and ice rescue gear - Forestry 240 is our primary brush piece -  It is 1st due on all grass and brush fires and also responds on water rescues towing the rescue boats and technical rescues for transporting personnel

2005 Peterbuilt Marion 20' walk in/250 gpm PTO pump/200 gal tank/20 gal foam - 150' 1 1/2" preconnect - 30,000W hydraulic generator - light tower - 2 chain saws - 10'/24' ladder - 2 rescue saws -6 Scott 2.2 SCBA/6 spare - full compliment of Holmatro spreaders, cutters & rams - many high and 2 low pressure airbags - gas metering equipment - dive rescue gear - 4/6000 psi air cascade system - technical rescue gear - in-line air system - dive rescue gear - 2x2/4x4/6x6 cribbing - HAZMAT equipment - portable lights - oxy/acetylene torch - 2 high lift jacks - folding stokes basket - large assortment of hand tools, air cut off tools, impact wrenches, cord & cordless Sawzalls - ALS EMS equipment - AED - cellular phone - communications equipment - portable radios and chargers - 10 ton winch - Heavy Rescue 241 handles nearly one quarter of our fire responses including car accidents, HAZMAT, water and technical rescues - it responds to all building fires and may serve as a lighting plant and/or command post

2005 - E450/Lifeline Type III ALS ambulance - one of a trio of essentially identical ALS ambulances that the department operates - they are equipped with some of the latest advanced life support equipment available -  Phillips HeartStart MRx 12 Lead ECG Defibrillator/AED - the department replaces one ambulance, on average, every three years

Marine 247 2000 10' Zodiac inflatable boat/Honda 8HP - This vessel is used in areas where launch access to ponds and lakes are limited or waters may be shallow - it is stored on a trailer at fire headquarters
