Mission Statement

To ensure the preparation and proper equipping of the Officers and personnel so that together they are ready to provide the highest quality and most cost effective resolution to emergencies that threaten or will threaten life and property in our community and Barnstable County. 

Areas and actions where we play a leading role are: fire suppression, fire prevention, basic and advanced emergency medical care, heavy rescue services, control of hazardous materials emergencies, water rescue, natural disaster response and management and the rescue of trapped, lost or injured persons. The department will also strive to assist the public in any emergency situation where action can be taken to relieve anxiety, potential or real pain and suffering.

This department will assist in evacuations, hazardous materials clean up and other situations where asked to help other departments.
