MEETING NOTICE

Notice of Public Meeting on proposed “Stony Brook Salt Marsh and Fish Passage Restoration”
6:30 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2009
Brewster Town Offices, 2198 Main Street, Brewster

The Brewster Department of Natural Resources will be holding a public meeting at Town Hall to discuss the proposed Stony Brook Salt Marsh and Fish Passage Restoration Project. The project involves the replacement of the existing culvert under Route 6A west of the intersection of Route 6A and Lower Road. The 24-inch culvert will be replaced with two 9-foot-wide culverts to improve tidal flow and restore approximately 20 acres of salt marsh and improve the herring run to 386 acres of spawning habitat in five ponds. Other proposed work includes modifications to the existing foot trail through the marsh south of 6A and construction of an observation platform adjacent to the foot trail on land owned by the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. Construction is planned for late spring and early fall 2010. Members of the Project Team will be present to answer questions. For more information, contact: Mr. Chris Miller, Director, Department of Natural Resources, Town Hall, 2198 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631, (508) 896-4546.
